Raids Uncover Illegal Laughing Gas Operation Involving Father-Son Business Leaders

Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has officially named two executives from PT Suplaindo Sukses Sejahtera as suspects in a health law violation case. The announcement came on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, when Andi Hioe and his son Jasen Hioe were formally designated as suspects.

Massive Warehouse Raid Across Multiple Cities

Police officers conducted coordinated operations targeting sixteen illegal warehouses containing Whip-Pink branded N2O gas products. These facilities lacked proper distribution permits from BPOM and were located across twelve different cities throughout Indonesia.

The warehouse distribution included five locations in Jakarta, two each in Bandung and Bali, and single warehouses in Makassar, Semarang, Jogjakarta, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Medan, and Lombok.

Substantial Profits from Unlicensed Sales

During a six-month period, the unlicensed operation generated estimated revenues ranging from Rp 2.1 billion to Rp 7.1 billion through illegal sales of the laughing gas product.

Brigjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso, head of the Narcotics Division at Bareskrim, confirmed that both individuals were officially named suspects on the same day as the announcement.

“Currently, an examination is underway against Andy Hioe and Jasen Hioe as they fulfill their second summons as suspects with allegations under Article 435 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health,” Eko told reporters on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

Corporate Structure and Family Connection

Kombes Pol Zulkarnain, head of Sub-Division III within the Narcotics Investigation Department, clarified that both suspects hold senior positions within PT Suplaindo Sukses Sejahtera. According to official business registration documents, Jasen Hioe appears as the registered owner of the company, while Andi Hioe serves as the actual operator and manager.

“Andy Hioe and Jasen have a father-son relationship,” Zulkarnain explained.

The investigation revealed that the company distributed Whip-Pink, commonly known as laughing gas, in violation of Article 435 of the Health Law No. 17 of 2023. The operation proceeded without obtaining the necessary legal permits and BPOM distribution authorization.

Following the initial discovery, investigators had previously detained nine PT SSS employees. These workers underwent questioning as witnesses to help expand the case investigation.

Both suspects are currently undergoing examination by investigators from Sub-Division III after completing their second official summons as suspects in this health law violation matter.
